TEEN'S MENTORING

Ease & grace in this wild life transition

We know as adults that we wouldn't want to be teen's now would we, no way! 

​

It was hard enough in the 90's & early 00's for me, let alone all this new technology & social media!

 

I fully feel compassion for the teen's & youth of today, it is so much harder in many ways to be a teen now... because all of technology, social media and the last couple of years of global shenanigans! It makes communication & socialisation so much more challenging. Nope no thanks!

I know this because of first hand experience as a High School Teacher.

​

With a decade of experience as a High school Teacher working with teen’s, I genuinely know the importance of supporting our youth. This was always my favourite part of the job. 

​

It was always about building relationships & I was good at it too. I started as a Visual Arts teacher & slowly moved into leadership roles with student wellbeing & welfare. I was teaching & guiding students in Positive Psychology lessons & curriculum, & I was a 'school mum' to yr7 & 8 students for 2 years at a very low socio-economic area & tough Western Sydney High School. It wasn't easy but, I loved it & I loved the kids. They were the reason I went back each day. 

 

In 2021 I was part of a team at a Blue Mountains High School that was creating a pilot program for students with extreme anxiety & other additional needs & mental health challenges that impact their daily lives. We created this program from the soil up & it was a huge success for these kids. So much so that other schools are starting to do the same thing. With my team teacher, I was responsible for 7-10 students from year 9-12, all with very complex & differing needs.

​

Over the years I've also run programs around anger management programs, yoga classes, teens workshops around stress management & Teen’s day retreats.

​

Now I bring a decade of working with teen's, my yoga knowledge, health & wellness coaching & NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) into this space, Teen’s Mentoring. This is impactful & individualised mentoring for your sweet teen, as it should be. 

​

This sounds like a resume (haha), but all I want you to know is that I genuinely care for our future citizens. I want for them to be fully independent & clear thinking humans that have a positive impact on the themselves, people around them & the world.

​

My dream is for our teen’s to not only move through the wild transition of teen life into adulthood with more ease, grace & self compassion. But to also thrive in this period of their life! It doesn't have to be so hard!

 

They aren’t a cookie cutter human, nore do we want them to be. I want to help them bring all of their character & personality to the surface as the individual they are. The world needs your child to be fully & unapologetically themselves. When we feel safe & free to be ourselves we can thrive! And the world needs humans that are thriving, contributing and living a life they love.

These mentoring sessions will be completely tailored to your child & their needs.

​

This isn't just any talk therapy. I weave health coaching, wellness, art, yoga, mindfulness, breathwork, NLP & more into this safe space. This is a whole body & mind experience because we are an ecosystem, not a machine. You can't just isolate one part of the body or the mind & expect the whole ecosystem to change. All of us, the physical to the intangible, is completely & beautifully interconnected & woven together like a tapestry.

This is for your child if they are: 

  • Stressed & highly emotional (towards their school work/environment & or home life) need support processing thoughts & feelings.

  • Withdrawn & shy.

  • Overwork to burnout, place incredible pressure and expectations on themselves

Always focusing on my 3 principles of health & wellness: MIND, BODY & CONNECTION I support your teen through a self audit. (change it???)

Over the 6 sessions I can cover, but not limited to these topics:  

  • Mental Health awareness

  • How to manage stress

  • Focus & learning

  • Relationships & healthy boundaries

  • Values & beliefs

  • How process & release emotions

  • Study & learning skills

  • Nutrition & exercise

  • Gratitude & Mindfulness

And so much more, depending on the problems that feel more relevant to your teen's circumstances. This is about their unique bio-individuality.

 

I'll guide & help them to keep accountable to make the changes that they desire for their future. We'll take a dive into their life & what is causing the most concern for them.

 

They'll learn how to make life shifting changes & develop new habits that bring awareness to their beliefs, stories & values so that you can live in alignment with their personal goals, not just for their time at High School but well beyond that too. 

 

It’s my aim to help them bring more grace & ease into their life.

 

In this 6 one-on-one session program over 3 months, we can meet every 2 weeks. This timeframe gives them quality time & space to curate the changes that best suit them & their unique circumstances.
